NBA Recap, Top Plays and Photo Gallery for February 11, 2012

RECAP:

Blake Griffin received an ovation from the opposing crowd after an impressive performance that included several highlight-reel dunks in the Los Angeles Clippers’ 111-86 rout of the Charlotte Bobcats while the Denver Nuggets found a way to hold off the Indiana Pacers and get a much-needed win. Despite building a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter, the Nuggets survived a late, fourth-quarter run by the Pacers to win 113-109. Jrue Holiday scored 20 points to lead six Philadelphia players in double figures as the 76ers bounced back from a difficult home loss to the Los Angeles Clippers to break a season-worst two-game losing streak while Jeremy Lin did it again. The matchup of two of the most dynamic young point guards in the league made the New York @ Minnesota game an extremely hot ticket. The Timberwolves had to sell standing-room only tickets to pack in an announced crowd of 20,232, the largest crowd since 2004. But Jeremy had the last say in his matchup with Ricky Rubio. Lin hit a free throw with 4.9 seconds left to overcome a dreadful second half and lift the New York Knicks to their fifth straight victory, 100-98, over the Minnesota Timberwolves while Gary Neal scored 18 points, and Tim Duncan recorded his ninth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs won their seventh in a row with a 103-89 victory over the New Jersey Nets. Former Dallas-area high school star LaMarcus Aldridge had 33 points, 15 during a fourth-quarter rally, but Dirk Nowitzki scored 20 points, Jason Terry added 19, and Shawn Marion had 14 points and 12 rebounds and the Dallas Mavericks held on for a 97-94 double-overtime victory over the Portland Trail Blazers while Jason Richardson scored 28 of his season-high 31 points in the second half and made nine 3-pointers to lead the Orlando Magic to a 99-94 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Jared Dudley had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Phoenix Suns, who never trailed in defeating the Sacramento Kings 98-84 on Saturday night. The victory was the fourth in five games for the Suns, who have won their last three on the road. Phoenix took a double-digit lead in the second quarter and maintained a comfortable margin for the remainder of the game.
