RECAP:
If Dwight Howard is to get his NBA championship ring he still has to go through the likes of Tim Duncan to whose team he lost in overtime while the 76ers lost for the first time at home against the Denver Nuggets. Washington had some reason to cheer as the Wizards silenced the Thunder and their 7-game winning streak while the Boston Celtics got out of their funk to end their 5-game skid against the Raptors. Deron Williams had a near triple-double to lead his team against the visiting Warriors while Steve Nash helped the Suns beat his former coach's team. The other Gasol is becoming a dominant force for the Grizzlies who overcame the Hornets 93-87 and Joe Johnson overcame his slugging start to help the Atlanta Hawks beat the Blazers and keep alive their winning streak. Detroit had their pistons stuck again as the Timberwolves turned on their defense and outlast the Pistons 93-85 while the Sacramento Kings snapped their 3-game losing streak as they beat the Pacers 92-88. Chris Paul missed his third straight game but Mo Williams returned to help the Clippers. Jason Terry thought he'd won it but Chauncey Billups had other plans and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1 second left to stun the defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks.
